I'm looking around the CP and not seeing a way to change a standard product to a BTO product except by going through global changes as described in http://www.earlyimpact.com/faqs/e-commerce_shopping_cart_questions.asp?faqid=502

I customized for this in V2.76 and received an expectation from somewhere that this w/b in V3.12+. Is it in there and I'm just not finding it?

Global changes is still the easiest method.  On the bright side, you can use global changes to change just one item.

There's another way, but it involves some modifications to the admin files and would probably wind up obsolete after the next PC update.

Why, what's happening in the next update?

Since I have the code from V2.76 I'll probably just copy that over. Looks like it's even easier than before to change configOnly and serviceSpec because it doesn't use a different edit file for each type of product.

My wording was bad.  I meant to say something more to the order of: "the next update would probably break the code".
