I was poking around in the database and discovered a field that shows the number of times an item was viewed. But I can't seem to find a report in the Control Panel that shows that.

Does one exisit and I'm just blind?

Where did you find this? What table and column? I'd like to write a script that pulled and displayed this data.

The "Number of Product Views" is one of the standard reports contained in Sales Reports. Scroll to:

View Top Products or Customers

and select "Top Viewed Products" from the dropdown list.
