Author: ProductCart
Subject: 101
Posted: 12-January-2006 at 9:50am

ProductCart includes a full-featured Help Desk that allows customers to send messages and files to the store manager, after the order has been placed (e.g. graphics, logos, text, etc.). The rationale for not including this capability within the checkout process is that typically online stores do not want to take the chance of having an order fail due to issues with the upload of such graphics and other files.

For example, think of the scenario in which a customer does not realize that they are uploading a huge file (e.g. graphics for a brochure to be printed), the upload times out, and the order is never completed. Therefore, in the case of an online printing store, the Help Desk could be used as follows:

- Customer places an order
- Store manager receives the order, then sends a message to the customer,
via the Help Desk, asking for graphics, text and other files and information related to the order.
- Customer receives the notification, and replies to the message, uploading all the order-related files.
- Store manager receives the files, and works on the project.
- Store manager initiates another message via the Help Desk to show the customer a proof before printing the job.
- etc. etc.

ProductCart's Help Desk is powerful, yet easy to use. For more information, place an order on our of our online demos, then log into your customer account, view information on that order, and click on the "Post & View Messages or Files" to access the Help Desk from the customer's side. Both the customer and the store manager can initiate a conversation using the Help Desk.

http://www.productcart.com/printing/productcart/pc/

For detailed information on this and all ProductCart features, see the ProductCart User Guide:

http://www.earlyimpact.com/productcart/support/
