Would it be possible to create a version of the last 3 stages of the check out process as a Flash appication? This maybe a pie-in -the -sky idea but if you could use flash to create the image of a shel that after you had added product to the shopiing cart - that then subsequently a customer got the impression that you never left the same environment during sign-in/authenication/payment (verses stepping through separate pages) the product would be stronger and mean fewer customers dropping off. A significant point is the delay caused in loading these individual steps. I feel it would be better done in one hit and then have quick staging between "actions".
