Has anybody ever tried moving the viewcategories.asp page to the root and customized it to make it the home page.  The goal is to have a home page with all of the categories listed on it with small icons like this:  http://www.disasterstuff.com/store/pc/viewcategories.asp

If so, what problems did you run into?
Did it effect seo at all?

Any other insights would be nice.
