I asked Product Cart Tech Support this question

Is there any way to "trigger" achange of customer type from retail to wholesale by the purchase of aproduct?

We're using "wholesale" for our loyalty program. In other words, when acustomer pays to become a "Friend" they get Friend discounts (iewholesale prices).

It would be very smooth if the act of buying a product (that is, aFriend Membership) triggered a change in their status from retail towholesale.

Is there a way?

Not "out of the box", but it would not be difficult to implement for a good developer. You might want to post the question on our forums or contact a Certified ProductCart Developer for a quote. This should be a small development project (an hour or two of programming).
