Very interesting information about your thought process in choosing ProductCart. Thank you! That's always useful feedback for us.

Incidentally, we are planning to substantially improve the "Content Pages" section of ProductCart to make those features much more robust. In other words, ProductCart will contain a more feature-rich content management system.

We will soon start a separate forum thread on this topic so that anyone can contribute their thoughts and suggestions.

I also suspect it will be very complex and unfortunately I did not even think of this when making the product pages in Joomla.  I may just transfer everything over since none of the code is terribly specific to Joomla.  I would mostly just have to copy some images folders so the relevant paths point correctly.

Most of the content pages are up and you can click on View Cart at the top to see how it transfers back and forth between Joomla and ProductCart.  The header and footer pages on ProductCart need to be updated to match the current Joomla page, but it is close enough to get the idea of what is going on. 

It seems to be working, seems to be stable.  I can add products, create accounts, log in, log out, checkout, etc.

Joomla running on the Windows server was a hell of a lot more difficult to setup than it has been in the past, but after a LOT of assistance from the host4life.com web host it all started working.  Without their help I wouldn't have been able to get it to work.

I think it is a little sluggish between the cart and the product pages when products are added to the cart, but I've found that to be pretty common on a lot of e-commerce sites and hopefully I can resolve this a little with Dinger's add to cart confirmation add-on.   When it is all finished and ready to go online I will move it to another Windows server that support MySQL as well. 

I'm mixing Joomla with the ProductCart for a few reasons... I like the automation of Joomla.  I can create articles and set them to appear on certain days.  Such as having sales appear on holidays or having new product announcements on the front page without having to remember to log-in and update the site.  It's very SEO friendly and also has a great search function... Which PC does as well...  And there are a few other things I like about Joomla over shopping cart content editing...

Also, I chose ProductCart over a Joomla solution like VirtueMart because I needed the guaranteed customer support if I ever have a problem.  If something goes wrong on my site and it goes down for a day I may not have had any sales any ways or I may have very easily lost out on $5,000 in sales (my products are very pricey).  So a $700 insurance policy to ease my mind is not a problem for me.  Also, there are very few products as customizable as ProductCart for the price.

Hi Eric,
     I suspect this will be pretty complex as you need to be able to identify the customer and their customer group from the Joomla page, which would be replicating a whole chunk of ASP code / functionality in another language. Although I know, use & really like Joomla I've never got into the nitty gritty of the code,  I'm curious as to why you are mixing the two together and would love to take a peek. Can you post a URL - either here on the forum or via PM?

Ok... So all my content is made outside of PC in Joomla as some of you may already know...

One issue I just realized is I have different pricing levels for regular customers, repeat customers, and contractors.  So I set pricing levels for each type of customer after they setup an account.

Here is my issue... My product pages are in Joomla so if I update pricing through ProductCart or if certain customers have certain pricing the pricing won't update on the Joomla page...

Is there a code that I can set on the Joomla hosted product page that will update the price for each product?  And have that price be relevant to the pricing level for the customer? 

I know this code is next to the product price

But obviously this alone wouldn't do the trick.  What else do I need to include?  Thanks.
