Perhaps you would start by narrowing down what you actually want to accomplish?  Do you have a site online we can look at?  Is there a mockup of what you want to do visually, or a sample site that is reflective of that?  Much can be done but your question is rather vague.

I am looking to optimize my navigation left menu for our product cat. I have heard that Early Impact can use other menu controls "third party" or Ajax can be used. Can I get some advice on how best to go about this?
