Author: katharina
Subject: 257
Posted: 24-June-2006 at 12:00am

Is it possible to have a feature that doesn't allow certain items being shipped internationally. One maker's item has 110 voltage. We do ship this item to Canada and the USA. The maker doesn't allow us to ship it anywhere else, due to product liability issues. Another one is a licensed item. Its a cardboard cone with Disney characters on it. The maker of the cone does have licensing rights of the Disney character on the cone for the USA, but not internationally. This means we can only sell these cones withing the USA, and are not allowed to ship internationally. So far we have a notice on the page, but it does not prevent the international customer from buying it. We usually have to go back and notify the customer and cancel his order. Many claim that they did not see the message, even with super sized font. Customers just don't seem to read. Anyway this restriction also effects videos, music and software. Amazon.com prevents the international customer from buying those in the first place. Can Early Impact include this feature too?
