    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.productcart.com/member_profile.asp?PF=723">njessen42</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2572<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 19-March-2009 at 4:40pm<br /><br />Is there a way to set or change a setting in product cart's credit card gateway to accept a variance of x% so that when a post-authorization amount is greater than the pre-auth, shop cart will use the pre-auth number instead of creating a second authorization?<br><br>The reason we ask is: When there are two separate authorizations for one charge, debit card holders get burned because their funds are frozen for days or weeks, until the extra auth goes away.&nbsp; Sometimes it is just a rounding issue between product cart and our other systems, and the end charge is only 1 or 2 cents different - yet still gets a completely new authorization number, resulting in double-held funds, and bounced checks for our customer.<br><br>Nate<br><a href="http://shop.rings-things.com/" target="_blank">http://shop.rings-things.com/</a><br>]]>
