We use PayPal-PayFlow-Pro with Product Cart 3.11. Most of the time they are done as a batch process but sometimes individually.

Hi,  What method are you using to process the order?

"If the order amount has changed, ProductCart will void the initialtransaction and submit a new one so that it may be authorized". If you are using one of the payment gateways that support this then that's the way to go it seems.

Is there a way to set or change a setting in product cart's credit card gateway to accept a variance of x% so that when a post-authorization amount is greater than the pre-auth, shop cart will use the pre-auth number instead of creating a second authorization?

The reason we ask is: When there are two separate authorizations for one charge, debit card holders get burned because their funds are frozen for days or weeks, until the extra auth goes away.  Sometimes it is just a rounding issue between product cart and our other systems, and the end charge is only 1 or 2 cents different - yet still gets a completely new authorization number, resulting in double-held funds, and bounced checks for our customer.
