I'm having a major sale on gift vouchers on my site and offered a $75 Gift Certificate for only $44.     

I created a $75 GC item in my storefront and then used the Sale Manager to put it on sale for $44 - everything worked smoothly.  We sold over 100 of them in a short period of time and that's when the upset customer calls started flooding in - when the GC is purchased the system is only assigning a balance of $44 to the code.   It ignores any notion of the item being on sale and just assigns a balance of whatever the customer paid for it. 

I had to spend a couple hours today manually editing every GC sold one by one to give it the correct balance and will have to do this for every GC sold going forward.  I'm a longtime PC user and have been racking my brain for an easier workaround but can't think of anything else I can do without more functionality in PC to manage this type of thing.

I'm surprised nobody has come across this before with how popular the Groupon-style voucher offers have become.

Am I missing something?
