Hi Steverguy,

Some payment gateways now offer a Credit Card Vault option, where the customer's credit card details are saved to a secure vault, and the merchant can initiate a charge against the card in the vault without having to know the actual card number or CVV Code. One example of this is the NMI Gateway, which is supported by ProductCart and branded under the NetSource Commerce Gateway:

We've been using Offline Credit Cards on ProductCart for the past 7 years because sometimes an order comes in and we don't have one of the products in stock.  When processing that order, we only charge for the products we ship, and charge the remainder when the back-ordered product comes in. 

We use PayPal Express Checkout (in addition to Offline Credit Cards) which lets us collect part of a payment - and holds the remaining funds for 30 days if something needs to be ordered.  For example, if someone orders a pair of $5 socks and $10 shoes, and we're out of socks, PayPal still authorizes the $15, but we can then collect only the $10 and ship shoes, and collect the $5 later when the socks come in (up to 30 days).

Do any other gateways that ProductCart works with function similarly to PPE?  It would be nice to get away from the Offline Credit Credit Cards.
