I have noticed these symbols  in a few stores.
I think it comes from the html editor. How do I get rid of them? Thanks Josh |

Hi Josh,
Greg Dinger has done a lot of work on this odd issue. It's a combination of an EI bit of code, the FCK editor and editing any include files with MS Expression Web -- yeah, try to figure all that out, LOL! What seems to have solved it is to comment out the first line of code in /includes/encrypt.asp:
Give that a shot and let us know if the "pesky A's", as Greg has called them, go away. |

Thanks Sean.
Looks like it is working so far. Everything I could find on the subject points to charset=???. Almost everything I read recommended switching to UTF8. The PC virgin header file is charset=iso-8859-1. Hopefully I won't see those again. |

It could also be simply a matter of having the correct character encoding tag in your header. It would really help if you gave us a link to a page where you see this content.
Seems I posted this before I saw you had a solution. Good news. Edited by Greg Dinger - 28-April-2010 at 6:11pm |

Yeah, when I've seen this outside of PC, that's almost always the issue. It's not as simple as that in PC, though. |
