Is there a way to add a cost of product field to the section of PC where the prices of your products can be changed? Right now when I get new products or need to change pricing, I have to go through each product and change the cost, list, and my online price. I can go to the Update Product Prices sections, but all I can do is online, list, and wholesale price. It would save me so much time if that extra cost column was there.

If you have any comfort level dealing with ASP scripting it's probably going to be a fairly straight forward effort to dig into that script and change it. Have you poked around the code?

If you are not comfortable amending the code, or perhaps as an alternative approach anyway, you can use the export for re-import wizard and then update the cost and prices via a spreadsheet.

I haven't looked at the code, but to be honest changing code is not something I am interested in doing. I have changed simple stuff in the codes for my store, but most of that was simple html changes, or someone gave me the new code, and said put it here. I will look at other ways. Thanks for the suggestions.

The Export/Import wizard doesn't involve any code changes at all.
Test it with a couple of products. It's really a very straight forward method and allows easy manipulation of the prices using all the convenience of a spreadsheet, with all the features that excel offers to manipulate the data as you wish. |
