I have Product cart 4.1 sp1. I was thinking "Affiliates" would work for our situation, but now I'm not sure. Could someone who understands this better help me think this through?
We have designers. Each designer creates a product. We are the outlet for selling those products. The designers get royalties based off shoppers' purchases. A shopper could come from anywhere and there would be no link they'd need to click on to get to our site. Out of the box, do you think it's possible to do this? (for instance changing the links on the main store page, category trees, etc. to an affiliate link?) Or is this something I'd have to get one of our programmers or an outside programmer to help me with? Thanks. -Andrea : ) |

It seems unclear why you even need the affiliate stuff for this.
If the assumption is that each product is associated with a designer, mark each product with the designer referenced as a brand or supplier. then run a monthly sales report by that value (brand or supplier) and pay commissions accordingly.
Is that over-simplifying things?
