Assigning products to multiple brands

   I'm wondering if it's possible to assign products to multiple brands. Has anyone attempted and/or succeeded at doing this?

	It wouldn't be possible without custom programming and database changes. Each product is only linked to one brand. The customer coding would affect both the control panel (allowing linking products to multiple brands), changing the DB to handle that relationship (one to many vs. one to one) and frontend coding changes to handle display of product by brands and listing of brands on the product details page (and most likely elsewhere).

	What are you trying to accomplish? Product Cart does allow you to link a product to multiple categories. You could do something similar using categories.

	A workaround for what I'm wanting to do is to create two custom fields: Primary Subject and Secondary Subject. It involves another step for me, and for visitors looking to search for specific subjects/themes for their cards. But I think it will work. And most of the cards will have just one subject/theme. There's only a handful that will need to be cross-referenced in multiple, searchable fields. Thanks again. ed

	I created several categories for my customers to search/view by color, main category and theme. I created the categories and subcategories as you would any other categories. So for example the color "red" would be in main category "colors" and "colors" would be in the "root." I think that would work well with different categories for cards too. I sell scrapbooking supplies. :) I use brand for the manufacturer and then create the others in the categories section. You could create a custom "Designers" category. ??? Hope that makes sense. But i think this was what netprofits was saying. See www.fidjiti.com for the example. (still under construction)
