    Posted: 26-July-2011 at 11:42pm
Hey,

I want to move "pcPageDesc" (in the category pages) below all of the products. Simple enough, right? Well, I also wanted to make another content box to replace "pcPageDesc" above the products (let's call the new box "pcUpperPageDesc"), but I want to be able to edit both "pcPageDesc" and "pcUpperPageDesc" from within the pcControlPanel. Is this possible (and if so, explain how), or do I have to choose which box to keep editable within the pcControlPanel and make the other one hardcoded (so that I have to change its contents from some file on my hosting server)?

Thanks,
Peace

We did this. You just need to copy the description code to the new location and change the place its getting the description from. You will need to add a column in the db categories table to do this. You can just use search function to find which pages use the category description in the pc folder and admin folder.
Here is an example.

And you can edit both fields from within pcControlPanel? And if so, where would the second field be in pcControlPanel's category page configuration for?

It will be just below the long description when your editing a category.

I sent you a pm of the project I did. I basically added a field to the database called BottomDesc and then edited all the files. So if you view the files in the zip just search for BottomDesc to find the code I added. We are running 4.1BA Sp1 so make sure you use your own files and just use winmerge or something to compare and copy the code you need.
