As far as the engraving on the back of the medals, is there a way to charge by the letter for engraving, rather than just charge a flat rate engraving? Obviously if someone has 5 letters as opposed to 20 letters, then the charge should be different. Thanks |

Create a product option for "Engraving" with various options with different prices, i.e. 1-5 letters Add $5, 6-10 letters Add $10, etc. Then use a custom field to allow the customer to enter the letters they want to use.

That sounds like it will work. Would this method give us any way to keep the customer from cheating? eg choosing 1-5 characters but actually typing in 20? Thanks Wes

You would either need to add some custom Javascript validation or wait until the order is placed to check for a problem. If they typed more characters than they selected from the drop down, you could email them back about the issue and either adjust the price on the order from the order processing section of the control panel or cancel the order and have them re-enter the order.
