If I activate a new coupon for a limited period of time and designate it for free shipping for specific shipping options and set no parameters for the 3 filter categories, will the coupon code automatically be listed in the coupon box even if the customer has not yet set up an account?

   If you have set it to automatically apply, I don't see any reason why it would not,  off the top of my head.

Thanks, Hamish.  Sure wish there was a a way to test new coupons before they are activated - especially ones to be used thru a broadcast e-mail!  Any chance there's one in v4?

Hi,
   There's no automatic way to test it, but just create it, don't set it to auto apply and then walk through the checkout process and try the discount code out. Afterwards you can set it to auto-apply if you wish, or distribute the code as you see fit.

I know about that type of test, but it doesn't demonstrate whethe or not it would aoutomatically appear for new customers who have not set up an account before adding items to the cart, nor does it demontrate whether it would appear after they have created an account during the checkout process.  With this broadcast e-mail going to over 20,000 customers and visitors who have signed up to get our e-mails, I'd rather not be hit with finding out it didn't while we were deep in the throws of dealing with the high volume of orders that follow this e-mail :(
