How do I capture a credit card CVV code in Non-Real time processing. I cant find any setting in PC 3.051 to turn it on. If not possible, any suggestions would be great! Thanks Michael Connelly |

Saving the credit card security code to the database violates consumer privacy regulations. Merchants are not allowed to save the security code together with the customer's billing information and credit card information. For example, see:
http://usa.visa.com/business/accepting_visa/ops_risk_managem ent/card_not_present.html - "To protect CVV2 data from being compromised, Visa U.S.A. Inc. Operating Regulations prohibit merchants from keeping or storing CVV2 numbers once a transaction has been completed." Here is another opinion from an eCommerce forum on this issue that presents a slightly different perspective: http://www.mivacentral.com/articles/cvv2.mv?ref=GLOBAL For now, your best bet is to enable real-time credit card processing through your payment gateway. In this environment, you can require the customer to enter the CVV2 code, since it is passed directly to the payment gateway and not stored in the ProductCart database. |
