Hello everybody, daily around 3pm PST we can't login into Product Cart.  It throws a database error script.

On top of that, the site goes extremely slow and no orders can be placed.

We've tried contacting our webdesiger and our server and we have no idea what's causing this.  Yesterday product cart went down at 3pm, and some time during the night it went back up!

It happens almost everyday for 2 weeks now at a general time of 3pm PST.

Any suggestions?

I'd be talking to tech support or the server administrator where you host the site.  There may be a scheduled process popping up at that time or something of that nature.

I would guess the same.  We had a similar problem on our provider's server.  We talked to them and they moved us to a different server with a limited number of users (semi dedicated) without any up cost.  Apparently pc (in our case SQL) needs a certain amount of system resources to run smoothly.  Plus we have lots of products.  I think they only had to move the database to another server.  Talk to your host and see what may be the issue.

Thanks for the amazingly quick replies

After talking to our server, he says that there is Prodcut Cart is running it to 100%, him and our web designer beleive that there is a script error that is causing such a strain on the server causing the database error.

Right now the site went down again. BTW we only have under 1000 products

Hi,
If there was a problem with Product Cart it would most likely be impacting more than just your site. Also, as this is happening at a particular time that also pretty much rules out product cart as, AFAIK,  it does nothing at any particular scheduled time - it just reacts to requests for web pages.

If the hosting company cannot be specific about the issue I would go with the request to move your DB to another server - if the problem still persists then  further diagnostics will be needed - but probably this will  need to be done by the hosting company, depending on the level of access to the server they permit.

Thanks for all the replies, we upgraded out server to a higher capacity and our site is back and fully functional.
