I need to set up a second store in Canada current store is in the US.
FYI yes it needs to be a second store for a myriad of reasons. I would like to take all the information and place it in the second new store. Can I take a copy of the current db and reinstall it for the second store? Then make appropriate edits. Am I missing something? Licensing info, store specific data that can't be reused?? Thanks in advance. Josh

Hi Josh,
EI's EULA would require a new license for the Canadian store if it has a different domain name. RE:"I would like to take all the information and place it in the second new store." Not sure what you mean by this, but I think you maybe want to duplicate the data from the US store to the CA store, while keeping both domains active. If that's the case, then the EULA is an issue as all encrypted data is seeded with the license key -- that is, all encrypted data (passwords, credit cart data, etc.) would need to be translated based on the license key ... and each location would have it's own license key (as per EI's PC EULA). I've built a utility for just this purpose, so hit me up if you are interested.

Sean:
Thanks for your response. I don't think I need to duplicate the customer information to the CA store. Just the product, category, cross selling related tables, etc. Josh |

Mark Shipp mark@cognecy.com can synch product data from one database to another. Not a big deal.
