Automatically mark digital items shipped?

We have a store that sells ONLY digital product. Our store went live on Feb. 15. In the Help Desk, we got an inquiry from someone asking why their order status had been Pending for two days. This puzzled us, as everyone can download their product immediately after payment (either from the confirmation screen or the e-mail that is sent to them with download links).

We started looking, and see that all our orders show PENDING ship status. Is there a way to make orders that are exclusively digital product (which is ALL our orders) default to shipped/completed status? Or will we have to go in each day and manually "ship" all the orders from the previous day?

If the products can be downloaded immediately after payment, then the processing status should be "Processed". They don't need to be "Shipped". You can set the status that is used when an order is placed in the settings area of the payment option(s) active on your store.

Well, we have those settings made. But we had a couple of orders that were "Pending" even though payment was processed. I guess there was a ripple in the space/time continuum or something that kept the status from going to Processed.

I have a similar issue as the store we manage sells more than just digital and I want all digital product only sales to immediately go to shipped and processed so the order fulfillment people don't need to weed through them.
