Hello,
I was wonderinging if there is a way to have customers login with a customer id instead of a e-mail? I noticed both the frontend and backend have a e-mail verification ajax added to it where it requires it to be an e-mail. I was planning to just make the e-mail field not require a e-mail formatting and just use it as a customer id field? Is this possible? Has anyone tried to customize productcart to do this? Thanks in advance |

Hi,
Although customizing ProductCart is certainly possible I would not change the use of the email field as it's required for sending emails to customers for :- - Orders. - Marketing. - Password reminders etc etc. Adding an additional customer field would be a MUCH safer approach. If you proceed, wWhatever you do will require customization and maintenance of that code across future versions. |

Ok,
That does sound safer. Is there anyone out there that has coded something to this level? Adding another field and making that new field be the customer ID for logging into ProductCart for customers? Thanks in advance |
