Greetings - We just configured our USPS webtools/API account and while it returns values for domestic test orders, our test from fictional international addresses return 'no rates returned'

I am using the Estimated Shipping Charges link from the shopping cart page:

UK
Gloucestershire
GL5 1RN

We are using:
# USPS Airmail Parcel Post
# USPS Global Priority Mail - Variable Weight Envelope (single)

Any ideas? Thanks very much for your feedback.

Some services require certain weights to be valid.  So if your total weight does not qualify then it will return nothing.  I think Parcel Post has a 4 pound rule.  Turn on First Class International Mail and see if something comes up.  I think that was why we had to turn on both.  It is also picky when it comes to addressing.  Make sure to have a postal code that matches the town and country.   Next check if you use custom packaging sizes and set it to something small.  I know we had some issues on our site until we figured what was causing it.  The postal api is a tricky thing.  I know it was not a problem from EI, but the lack of technical background info from the post office and their sloppy api.   We also had to add a 6 dollar handling charge so we would not get screwed on shipping rates returned by the api for Europe and Asia.  This also means we always have to refund Canadian orders.  The api is far away from even being so called good on international orders.  For a while we had it on purpose not return a shipping rate, so we could manually figure out shipping and request money from the customer by creating a hidden product they can go to and pay for it.  You find that info in the wiki.
