Has anyone done an RSS feed for their store? I'm surprised that I couldn't find anything about RSS feeds in the help docs. I'd like to be able to have the RSS button show on the new arrivals and other pages for our customers to keep up-to-date. If anyone knows how to incorporate this, I'd be obliged to hear the details.
Thx, rh |

I haven't done it directly from the store. I have used a wordpress blog which seamlessly integrates with the website and then manually add new products with links back. I know this isn't exactly what your looking for but you can use the product widget with it and it does have a built in RSS feed.

Very interesting, Nigel. I was looking at the E-Commerce Widget b/c that looked like the most likely way of doing it "out of the box." I did not know that it created an RSS feed. Am I assuming right that you are talking about the E-commerce widget when you say 'you can use the product widget with it and it does have a built in RSS feed'?

Let's bring this back to life. Has anyone accomplished an RSS feed to their store? I'm surprised with the extensive XML Tools that there's not any documentation on how to do this. Who's on board for RSS implementation in the next update?

I would like to also see RSS implementation... we have some affiliates and resellers that would like to accurately keep track of current and broken links. We are constantly adding and removing products from our site and this will help mange it better for them.

I also think this would be useful. I just tried to advertize my products on wikio but they require the rss feed.

v.3.04b - suggest you upgrade. 1 - That versoin is very likely vulnerable to some really awful security issues. 2 - even if someone DID write an RSS integration, it's unlikely that this old version would be compatible.
What exactly do people want from this RSS feed?

We currently use a budget scraper (http://ponyfish.com) to build an RSS feed of our new arrivals. It's pretty bare bones so I'm definitely open to a better solution. RSS feed, ideally, would include Product Name, Thumbnail, Price and Description with a link back to the product page. All automated, of course, and self-hosted so we don't have to send people off site for RSS. And in our case, I prefer to have a feed of our newest products only, so maybe make it so it could work at different entry points (New Arrivals, Featured, Categories).
