Hi folks !!!

What do you recommend? Moving the Home page to the root or a 301 redirect to the PC folder?  Which of these two methods are more SEO effective?

Thanks.

Moving the home page to the root is simple.  Why even hesitate or challenge the options?  You can have it done in less than an hour.

Ok, but lets say one goes for the redirect as described here: http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/how_to/move_home_page_retain_ajax
Would one do their SEO in the default.asp page or the home.asp page or both?   This seems like a bit of an odd design that product cart chose to not make the home page at the root level.   I suspect it is so that folks with existing sites can easily incorporate product cart.   It seems there should be an admin function to handle this.

What I do when we build a site is to follow that "move" procedure, then rename home.asp to default.asp.  It takes about an hour.  Then you can basically ignore the  home.asp in the PC folder.

Yep, would be nice at some point to see v4 offer built-in support for a root home page.  At least the SEO mod is built in and switch-selectable.  All good things in time...

There are "ready to go" files for this now. It only takes a couple of minutes. Please see: http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/how_to/move_home_page_retain_ajax#first_optionpre-edited_files

That rocks.  What a relief that will be to not have to keep patching the files.
