Can you change existing SKU to sub-product

   I was wondering if it was possible somehow to use Apparel Add-ons sub-product import feature to change the status of existing SKUs to sub-prodcut SKUs.  In other words, the SKU already exist in the database but the sub-product import reassigns the SKU as a sub-product when it imports.  I tried it and it didn't work.  It then seem to have 2 SKUs with the same code, one non-apparel and one sub-product.  I'm just wondering if there was some other way around this or notify a duplication when it does happens.
