Has anyone else had trouble with version 4.1 and setting up the SQL file with 1&1 hosting?
The contents of the SQL file are too long to copy & paste into the query analyzer, so I had to import the SQL file as a .bak and it has been "running" for about 5 hours. It's only 511MB and its still not done. Does anyone have any tricks to getting around these issues?? I really need to get this store set up! Thanks!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Here are a few pointers:

If you are working on a SQL Server, you really need to be using SQL Server Management Studio that corresponds with the version of SQL Server you are on.  This software is free form Microsoft.

You cannot import the SQL file as a BAK.  This file is a query and must be ran against the database you have created.

When you stated the query was too long for the Query analyzer this makes me thing you are using the online version that was specific for SQL2000 (not too many people use this anymore).  Regardless, I know of no such limits on queries mainly because they are queries (mini programs that get compiled and ran ... can be literally thousands of lines long).

If are having difficulty with this and need assistance give me a call.  If you have remote login credentials for your SQL server I can log into it and get this set up pretty quick.

I will send you an IM with my contact information.
