My cart is version 4.1a. It is running the apparel add-on. All the items that do not have an attribute code or image are not adding the options to the cart.
It forces you to select them, but does not add it to the cart. Any item that has either an attribute code or image attached to the attribute does add it to the cart. I emailed a support ticket to earlyimpact and they have never seen this issue.
You can see the problem here: Add item any item from this page:
http://kennethreeve.com/store/pc/Briefs-c17.htm Select a size and color and look at the cart page, no option added.
Add any item from this page:
and see that it is added to the cart.
Any suggestions? Site was supposed to go live 2 days ago, but with half the products option not being added to the cart we cannot. Also we did receive an order with Google and there is no size options or color options to let us know how to process the order.
Please advise.
I did the research to see when it is being added and when the options are not being added and this is the only difference between the products. Once the attributes have either an image or an attribute code, it gets added.
I would go ahead and add attribute codes to the items, but I cannot rebatch 500 products.

I just went ahead and tested further, there are other items that are not being added to the cart and they have images attached.
There seems to be a real issue.

Just an update on this issue: we talked to dccreatives and found that the problem had been caused by an issue with the SQL server at the hosting company that they used to host this Web site with (CrystalTech).
What happened was that - in some cases - when apparel sub-products were batched, not all information was updated successfully. Specifically, the new products were added to the database (new records in the products table), but the information related to the connection between a sub-product and its parent product's option attributes was not saved successfully. The solution to the issue was to re-create the sub-products. The store is no longer hosted by CrystalTech, but rather by JoltDigital, and performance has improved substantially since the move, according to dccreatives. P.S. Unfortunately we have had very inconsistent reports about CrystalTech. Many customers have no problems in their Web hosting environment. Others have substantial performance issues, which are always caused by non-responsive SQL servers. So it appears that there are either issues with some of their shared SQL servers, or with the network connnections between some Web servers and some shared SQL servers. Because reports of issues with this hosting company were very rare in the past, CrystalTech used to be on our list of hosting providers that are hosting many ProductCart-powered stores. |
