There's a ton of information on your site, so there's a good shot I missed this, but I have one more question. I know that your software easily integrates with existing website designs. That's very cool. However, I WANT to use a template. I just want to be able to customize it a lot (colors, my own graphics here and there (sparsely), etc. Does your software come with templates? Also, while I'm thinking about it....all of the website creation (pending YOUR software is used to build the site from the ground up....no integration....just starting from nothing), etc, is done online? Can you work on it OFFLINE off of your hard drive and then upload it? Thanks so much. :)

ProductCart comes with a 'default' template (header.asp & footer.asp), which can certainly be customized with your own logo and color scheme. The template is really meant to be just a temporary placeholder while you create your own graphical interface for your store (or adapt an existing one). One interesting thing about the default template is that it contains some code snippets to show how dynamic elements can be integrated into your Web site design. For example:
Note that any work on the template is always done locally on your desktop and the header/footer files are uploaded to the server. Here are the files: 2005-11-22_145549_ProductCart_header_footer.zip And here is a document that talks about customizing the graphical interface of your store: http://www.earlyimpact.com/pdf/ProductCart_interface.pdf Edited by earlyimp - 22-November-2005 at 3:00pm |

Well, the reason that I ask is that I'm currently using ShopFactory (www.shopfactory.com), and I used a default template for the design. I didn't use a typical "editor" like Dreamweaver, FrontPage, etc, so I can't just open up an editor and save each page. What I'm getting at is that I don't know if you can import a template from another shopping cart package into yours. Secondly though, I don't even know if I want to do that. I just wanted some good templates to work with that I could customize and go (quickly). I want to be able to quickly get my framework done, and start working on inputting products. options (gift wrap, etc), and get this up as soon as I can. I really don't have time to design another site. I just wish I could use the software first to see how I like it.

You certainly don't have to design a graphical interface for your store from scratch. For example, the Flash + HTML template that you can see used on our computer demo store mentioned below was purchased for less than $60 from Template Monster. We did this on purpose to show how the system can be easily integrated into any off-the-shelf design. Edited by earlyimp - 29-November-2005 at 1:11pm |

How easy is it to change the text/pictures in the templates though and to customize it? It appears to be really expensive if you have template monster customize it for you. |
