Hello there --
I am currently evaluating ProductCart as a new potential customer. I'm impressed with it! However, there is one particular functionality that my company desperately needs that does not seem readily available: The option to group customers. I need to be able to create customer groups and then limit the availability of certain products by group membership. Is this possible in ProductCart?
I hesitate to show a competing product with this functionality, but it appears VP-ASP does what I seek. However, ProductCart seems to be a superior product overall, and therefore I'm wondering if ProductCart offers a solution (and I'm just not seeing it on the website) or if it's a feasible customization. Maybe someone on this forum has experience in the solution?
Thanks for any guidance someone can offer.
Kind Regards,
Chris
VP-ASP 7.0 now has a very powerful new weapon in its armoury called the Customer Group Manager. This new tool gives you unprecedented control over how your site operates. Who can see what, and even for how long.
News articles, Blogs, products and content can now be associated with specific or grouped user logins so you can have private targeted content. For example a school might use this feature so they can have different content displayed to teachers as compred to what students can see. |

This is not a supported feature in PC but it is a feature which we have built for a client.
Essentially, we altered the customer admin tool to allow customers to be associated with one or more categories. The store is login only, although that probably would not be a necessity in all cases. Once a customer logs in, the product categories to which they are entitled appear in the navigation scheme.
If you would like to discuss such a mod, feel free to contact me directly via my site.
