Hi All,
We're in California and Labor Charges are non-taxable (at least for the moment). When setting up or editing a product, you can use the Non-Taxable check box under other settings to make the product non-taxable. My problem is that we have an option for several products of having them personalized which is a Labor charge. Is there a way to make an option (on a taxable product) non-taxable? If not, maybe this could be slated for a future upgrade? A check box similar to the non-taxable check box in other settings could maybe also be applied to the options screen to allow us to set an option on a taxable product as non-taxable. Thanks Alan |

This is possible with the BTO addon. You would create a BTO product, and it would be taxable. Your options would consist of BTO items, and when you create them you can set them as non-taxable. I'm not sure how you would handle custom text input, like if someone wanted to get something engraved. I don't believe there is a way to associate that directly to an option without some custom coding.
However, if you're just dealing with multiple choice options, where you already know what each option will be, then the BTO addon will accomplish this. |
