I'm very new to Product Cart, asp, etc. We switched our store, www.gollygear.com, to Product Cart from Miva and went live a week ago. I noticed that when I begin to type "www.goll...." in my browser, it lists the address below, but "Your Page Title" is next to it, rather than the default page title I entered in the "Company Details" in "Store Settings" in the Control Panel. Also, when I open a new browser tab (I've pinned my site to the browser window, "Your Page Title" appears. (When I enter the full address, the page title is at the top of the window, but I'm still concerned.)
Why isn't the title I entered in ProductCart appearing????? Thanks. |

Hi Fran,
For some reason your site is not resolving for me right now, but I'm going to venture that you are simply seeing some cached info. In my history I'm seeing "Golly Gear great stuff especially for small dogs"

Hi - thanks. Yup, our server crashed.
I notified tech support. Hopefully when tech support gets our 301 redirects done (arrrgh) this will resolve itself. |

Hi, that is being displayed from Google when it tries to predict the url you wish to go to. It is getting that text from the home page with the redirect. In firefox go to view-source:http://www.gollygear.com/ and you will see it there (from the index.html page ).
I also noticed you have an email address in plain text in the header file. That's "a bad idea" as it will be picked up by automated bots scraping for email addresses to spam. At the very least you should obfuscate the email address. I like to use : http://www.fingerlakesbmw.org/main/flobfuscate.php to do so. |
