Is it possible to hide the SKU in the product description, shopping cart and gift registries? The only place I have found to hide it is when products are shown in a list. I want it hidden regardless.

There is not setting in the Control Panel to turn the visibility of the product part number (SKU) on or off storewide. If you feel that you can edit the code a bit, a search for "pSKU" in the source code in the "pc" folder will return most instances of where the SKU is shown. You can then edit those pages to hide it. If you are a Dreamweaver user, the Find & Replace utility in Dreamweaver allows you to perform a quick source code search to locate those instances. We hope this helps. |

In version 3 you certainly can configure not to show the SKU with the product. It's a simple change in the admin panel 'settings' tab. We don't show it in many situations. We have also redefined it to 'Item no.' across the store with a simple change to languages.asp in the /includes folder. We find it's useful then as a pseudo way for customers to easily sort products by addition date. We also set up 'month added' categories - but it's a quick way that people understand when viewing within a category. cheers Mark |

The only setting I see for hiding the SKU applies only to products when they are shown in a list. Is there another place to find this?

You're right. You can though in the Home Page settings turn off the SKU for the home page, best sellers, specials and new arrivals. By turning it off in lists and on the home page, the only place the SKU is shown in our store is on the product details page. cheers Mark |
