I think this solution is great, we have been looking at other ways to do this, but one that is included in the cart is ideal.
Moving forward with new versions of Product Cart, will this method continue to be used? Or will the SEO things change with v2? I'd hate to get tons of static urls listed in google only to have them need to be changed when the next version comes out. Thanks! |

Unless you have software installed on the server that allows to do a MOD REWRITE (which is not built into IIS), this is pretty much the only acceptable way to go, according to our research. So we don't expect any changes in the next version of ProductCart (v3). However, some of the affected files (e.g. viewCat files) will likely change substantially in ProductCart v3. This means that the current files will be overwritten and any changes to the files related to this SEO technique will be lost and will have to be reapplied. As you have already seen, though, this only takes a few minutes. |
