The alternate text box pop ups appear in front of the beautiful Ajax pop ups. Does anyone know how to hide or eliminate these? Thanks.

Hi Insight, This is a behavior of IE (Internet Explorer) that we can not change. There are a few workarounds, but each has its own drawbacks. I will do my best to explain each of them here. IE renders the alt text in the absence of the title text. Technically, alt text should show only when the image is NOT there or cannot be seen. For example, they would be read to a legally blind person by a special browser. That is the major drawback of removing the alt text completely, and it’s not recommend at all. One possible solution is to add an empty title attribute to the source code. The title attribute will suppress the alt text popup. ex. <img src="ProductImage.jpg" alt=”My Product" title=""> The drawback here is we can not foresee if empty title attributes will effect your search engine placement, or have any other negative effects on accessibility. |
