Can anyone help?
I have 2 sites setup and running off the same PC Database We have managed to seperate the products and payments go through ok but and this is a big BUT! We use Worldpay for our payment processor, on our main site- www.justplaying.co.uk (which sells traditional toys) when the customer has paid on Worldpay they are sent back to the site which verifies the sale in PC On our other site www.oceanlights.co.uk (which sells educational products to schools) although this site does have its own installation ID from worldpay, only one can be used in the database. Therefore it uses our main sites ID and after the customer has paid instead of being returned to Oceanlights to verify purchase they are forwarded to Justplaying Although the sale has been paid for it is left as an incomplete order on the Oceanlights site Is there anyway to add 2 installations of worldpay so each site can use one? Thanks Neil |

Its been a long night but I think I have sorted it!
So for the record, here is what I have done: In my MS SQL - table - dbo.Worldpay then add wp_id and installation ID Next Store\manager_admin\Gateways\RT_Worldpay.asp line 6 where wp_id=1 change this to where wp_id=2 Same again on lines 24, 76 and 106 Store\pc\gwwp.asp line 68 where wp_id=1 change this to where wp_id=2 These changes make the installation id visable in Admin and also work on the customer side ![]() |

This is just a note to clarify that multiple stores can no longer be run on the same ProductCart licenses, when the domain name is different. That is: ProductCart is licensed both on a domain-specific basis and a database-specific basis.
There can be exceptions to the rule, but you will need to contact Early Impact. Read more details about how ProductCart is licensed. Here you can also find some frequently asked questions on the rationale behind our licensing model. If you have any questions, certainly contact us. Edited by earlyimp - 02-October-2008 at 5:57am |

Interesting!
Sadly I was unaware of this change in policy because when I purchased ProductCart we asked about the use of one database for 2 or 3 sites (I have enclosed a copy of the correspondence below) Therefore when I purchased ProductCart did I not purchase a license which allowed the use of 1 database between 2 domains? Also in the correspondence it mentions nothing of seperate domains Finally I have submitted a ticket over this issue Neil From: "Justplaying Neil" Sent: Tue, 17 Jul 2007 07:04:45 -0400 To: "'Early Impact Customer Service'" <enquiries@earlyimpact.com> Subject: RE: [367-0E2DD0D6-EB55] Early Impact - Request for more information Hi Massimo I suppose my final question is we currently have 4 ecomm sites all using the same sql database - basically trying to promote the same products on different domains - for this would we need 4 licenses or have I read it's the database which is licensed? Therefore we could use one license? < ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">< name="ProgId" ="Word.">< name="Generator" ="Microsoft Word 12">< name="Originator" ="Microsoft Word 12"> From: Early Impact Customer Service [mailto:enquiries@earlyimpact.com] < ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">< name="ProgId" ="Word.">< name="Generator" ="Microsoft Word 12">< name="Originator" ="Microsoft Word 12"> Hi Neil, |

Correct. The e-mail conversation above is from 2007 and the change in licensing terms happened in 2008. Of course, we will respect whatever terms were in effect when you purchased ProductCart. I believe a message along these lines has already been sent to you in reply to your ticket.

Hi, Yes, I think the licensing was revised, but it looks like your sites don't match the rules as layed out in Cedric's email anyway as it says "If you need stores with different products and categories, then you would need to purchase additional licences". Still, I can see from an admin and maintenance point of view that there could be advantages to running of a single DB and I don't believe an extra licence will prevent you from doing so.

Hamish the stores are the same
I have altered the left menu system to make them look different and the path of the browse link but they are selling the same products On Justplaying the priority is Toys but customers can also purchase educational material by following the path educational > teaching resources > On Oceanlights the priority is Educational Material but the schools can also by the toys which are also educational And if you actually think about it how can I be selling different products on each site, the customer only has to click on search and they can view all the products in the database therefore purchase any item on any site The only changes are to the layout of the menu and the way the customer navigates the sites |

Cool! - Nice approach. I thought you had done some customisation to control what was shown on each store, but that's a good solution which keeps life simpler.

I could maybe dream of doing some customisations but sadly often my dreams turn into nightmares!
Therefore i like to try and keep things simple |
