I have a customer that isn't registered for VAT.
By default Productcart shows the VAT inclusive price so her invoices are showing the VAT amount separately which is incorrect.
Is there a way to turn VAT off? I should really know this but all my other productcart customers are all VAT registered so its never been an issue before.
I could hide it on the invoice but then the prices would be wrong.

Hi Nigel,
Switching to "Manual tax calculation" should resolve this. |

Alternatively, set all the products to "Non-taxable" - if the products are already in place then the Reverse Import Wizard is a very quick way of updating them all

Thanks Hamish,
How do I do switch to manual tax calculation?
Is it not possible to remove VAT alogether? What about all the businesses that don't charge VAT either because they are not registered, they are chrities, or the items they sell don't incur VAT - food, childrens clothes, product brochures and leaflets etc?

Hi Nigel,
For stores that hav a mix of taxable and non-taxable products individual items can be set as "non-taxable". Another store-wide option is to set the VAT rate as 0% - but I suspect that's not ideal as I believe that the VAT would still show up, just as a zero amount (or perhaps that is what is desired). To switch to manual tax calculations go to Settings > Manage Taxes Hamish |
