How does the Browse by Category/Browse Catalog page (viewcategories.asp) determine which products get displayed at the root level, before a category is selected? The ones it calls "Some of the most popular products on our store..."
We're launching our new store using ProductCart in January, and we can't figure out what criteria is being used to fill those slots before a category is actually selected.

Hi Brian, when you add products to both a category and one of its subcategories, those products are considered "featured" products and displayed in the parent category (as well as in the sub-category that they have been assigned to).
Since assigning and removing products to/from categories is quite simple and quick, and since products can be assigned to an unlimited number of categories in ProductCart, this makes for an easy way to "feature" products in a category that contains sub-categories. Once a category is chosen, I see that. But when viewcategories.asp is first displayed, before a category is chosen, how are the items selected for display in the "root"? |

You can add products to the root too by clicking on its name (e.g. "Products"), which will load this page "editCategories.asp?nav=&lid=1".
