I am attempting to set up a cart for a customer to see Membership Certificates. I can provide some customization to get it to work, but am having a hard time deciding approach to take. Originally I had thought to have a downloadable product. This will allow them to log in and access a file to print. Each Certificate needs to contain their specific Membership Number and business specifics (which are provided during product selection with the use of customer input fields).
The biggest problem using this technique is when a customer orders more than one membership certificate at a time. They only receive one link back to the download area.
Can anyone advise me on a better approach? My other option would be to consider it more like a Gift Certificate.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Chris. The second option might work better. You can point ProductCart to any "Gift Certificate Code Generator" when you create a gift certificate. In your case, the "generator" would not create a gift certificate, but rather use different logic to add the Membership Number and other information as needed.
This should give you a lot of flexibility, and also keep source code modifications to a minimum. The default Gift Certificate generator can be used as a reference to create your own script. We hope this helps! |
