Topic: Ajax PopupPosted: 03-March-2009 at 3:27pm |

I have reworked my layout and now my ajax image summary popup is off by about 300 px to the right. Have the same problem with the popup when you hover over "Previous Item" and "Next Item" as well.
I believe this is controlled in ei-tooltip.css, but I'm not sure under which "ID". Is it dhtmltooltip or dpointer or both ?
Anybody able to tell me which one ?

You also have to look at ei-tooltip.js

I'm looking at ei-tooltip.js, but I'm not seeing what is causing the 300px offset

It might only be an offset of 250px. It's kinda hard to put an exact number of pixels on it.

At the moment, I'm limited to being able to point you to the correct scripts in this regard.
It's fairly tricky to adjust the product preview window and can take a bit of time. What you may wish to do is to browse sites that have had the window adjusted, download the .css and .js files from those sites (it's readily accessible if you simply form a URL to the respective files), and compare them to your own. Or hire one of the developers around here to do it for you. |

Yes, I did look at that, specifically the bottom where it talks about offset issues and neither solution seems to be the problem. I didn't use any ID's that could have caused a conflict and the suggestion of edited the js file does not account for enough of the offset.
It actually appears that the issue might be because of my wide screen monitor and might not be a real issue, although I wish the offset was not so much because it looks like its a screw up.

I had to do something similar recently and Greg pointed me in the right direction.
It was more fiddly than it seemed at first but I managed to sort it in the end only to find the client decided against using it !
There 3 main areas to change:
1. The tooltip images
2. ei-tooltip.css
3. ei-tooltip.js

I am having this same issue, but only in IE6 & IE7...Firefox (standards compliant browser) is perfect. I have tried modifying the x & y positions as suggested, and even created a conditional statement for ie only. It worked great until I resized my browser window.
Any tips for someone who is trying to get this thing solved? |

I have resolved this issue. It was being caused by either a float:left or a position:relative in one of my main divs. I hope this is useful info for somebody, it drove me crazy till I got it sorted.
