Is there any way to see what site searches customers are running from simple or advance search?

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

There is currently no report in ProductCart that lists the keywords or terms customers are entering in the simple (or advanced) search box. Perhaps some other ProductCart merchants or resellers have implemented a 3rd-party widget that provides this information and would be kind enough to post back with more information.

In the meantime, we'll add this to our internal 'review' list for the next version of ProductCart to evaluate whether it's something that can feasibly be added. One concern though (for high volume stores especially) could be the amount of extra data that would have to be saved and indexed for retrieval.

You can see what's being searched in google analytics. https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1012264?hl=en

Yes I posted this same question in another forum and someone gave me a more detailed answer. It works great assuming you have analytics running. Here is a copy of the post which was helpful:

If you are running Google Analytics on your site, there is a super easy non-coding way to see what searches your customers are performing.

Go to Content | Site Content | All Pages and type Search.asp in the search box. Each customer search will show up as a separate page with the search term listed as a parameter. You can sort these by page views and see all of your most frequent searches in one easy view.

Btw - this is a fantastic tool for deciding what Pay Per Click campaigns you might want to implement or where to focus your search engine optimization. If customers are searching these keywords on your site, you can bet they are searching them on Google as well.
