It would be nice to have a link next to "view all on one page" when a category has multiply pages of items..... when they click it will display all the products in that category instead of going one page at a time... I'm wondering if anyone has done this or know if its an easy modification I can do. |

This has already been added to ProductCart as part of the free 3.1 update, to be released next week. The entire page navigation routine was updated so that - if there are more than 10 pages in the results - ProductCart will display only 10 of them (and then "Next 10", "Previous 10" etc.).

Early Impact, Is it just not possible for a category product listing to show a "view all" link next to the multiple page navigation? For instance, I have limited my category pages to show only 12 items per page. As it stands right now, I only have 3 pages worth of products for any given category. Since I'm not a programmer I'm not sure exactly how its done, but it seems to me that the default coding is set up to check the number of products assigned to a category against this "items per page" variable. If the total number of products exceeds the variable then multiple pages are shown as "1, 2, 3...". Can't there be a link added called "view all" that will disregard the "items per page" variable and show every product within that category? The "View All Results" link on searches performed on the site works well. I realize that it may be easier to do a search, copy the address that appears after the search returns its results, and make a link that will essentially do the same thing. The main difference between the two methods is that: A) When browsing a category, you are able to have a unique h1 title and a category description. where as B) By copying the address after a search, you will change the page you're on to the "Your search returned the following results" page. I am constantly asked by customers why this isn't part of our site when it seems like a simple addition. Thanks in advance. |
