We're looking for a customization to allow for a "quick shopping cart" for our wholesale ProductCart site. Since many wholesale customers will be preparing an order based on replenishing items they already carry, and come to the site with a shopping list and quantities in hand, we'd like them to be able to enter an item number and a quantity and add that directly to their cart, without having to search for the item by number, add to cart, then change the quantity.

Something like the QuickCart field on https://www.cdw.com/home.aspx or QuickShop on http://www2.insight.com/transaction/show_cart.web would work fine, or even a page with 10-15 lines with entry fields for SKU and Qty, and an Add To Cart button (like we had on our old business-to-business site developed by our former ISP's programmers).

Has anyone done anything like this? If so, can you point me to sites using it? We would be interested in purchasing the code as an add-on, or paying a developer to write it if it doesn't exist yet.

I've seen this feature on uline.com and actually like it.  You just enter the SKU and quantities and it generates a cart from that with the title of items etc.  Another feature uline.com has is a list of items purchased in the past, which acts as a quick order pages.  This saves you from remembering the SKU since you see the items on one page.  Works well for those that order the same items on a regular basis.

I had my programmer do something similar back when I was developing my site in Jan.  Do not remember what was involved or how much time, but I can forward your info to them if you wish.  See

Enter CCP8501 then 12, CCL8801 then 10 to test

Confetti,

Did you forward my e-mail address to your developer? I haven't had any contact from anyone yet.

Thanks.
