Hi,

I am configuring Product Cart (Ver 3.12) and the setup of selling my products is a little different then how others may sell.  My products are grouped such as a 1 item, 4 item (case lot), 6 item (case lot).  After doing some tests with the quantity discounts, I realized that it ends up being very complicated for the customer and does not work properly.

I then moved to the option settings within the product page.  I created 3 list menu options for the above, a 1 unit price, 4 unit case price, and a 6 unit case price.  This works great although I do not think it was meant to be used like this. I realized that occasioanly I may have a sale on the product.  The online and list price fields in the product details would work perfectly if I was using 1 price but I cannot use it in this case since I have the 3 price options created above.

How would I do a sale in this scenario?  Is there a way to have a sale on the product page without using a discount code that a customer needs to enter?  The sale price would just be a fixed percentage discount that would apply to any of the 3 options I created above.  I like the idea of the how the List price and Online price show a result on the savings in red.

In other words I would like the customer to know that the item is on sale.

Anyone have a similar situation?

John

While I don't have a similar situation, I think you could set up a coupon code set to "automatically apply" during your sale period. That way the program would automatically insert the code and deduct the discount at checkout. This could be set for all customers or you can set some parameters.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply.

Since I am not able to use the list price and online price in the product details page, there is no other way of displaying a Sale price in ProductCart, correct?

John123, What I do on some items is to add the Sale Price information in Red in the Short Description. For example. "Now on Sale - Save 25%". With the auto coupon, the deduction would happen at checkout. Another thing that we do for Free Shipping is we've changed line 713 in languages.asp from No Shipping Required to **FREE SHIPPING** the we select No Shipping Charge and Display No Shipping Text and in our product details page the **FREE SHIPPING** shows up by the short description. I haven't tested it but if the Display No Shipping Text will display without the No Shipping Charge, you could use this method to show sale details. Of course, you'd have to change it as you sale details demand.
