How is this happening? I have tried to duplicate the problem, but I cannot add the product to my cart. How are my customers adding the product to their cart? I have all the fields marked correctly: "0" stock, do not allow backordering, etc. Following is an out-of-stock item: http://www.thesleepshop.com/store/pc/Queen-Bed-Bridge-Support-System-Deluxe-Model-51p79.htm. Any ideas?? Thanks!

I don't know what version you are running. We have noticed on our site that customers can put out of stock items into the cart from their wish list or by repeating an order. Not sure if that has been fixed in the newest version.

ProductCart validates both scenarios (add to cart from Wish List and "repeat order") to check for product availability.
Katharina: which version are you using? These features have been around for a while, if we remember correctly. |

Same for me, 3.11a. Haven't noticed the problem lately, so I'm not sure if it still exists. We still get occasionally orders on out of stock item, and we can't figure out why. Its rather seldom. Had one yesterday. I know it did not come from a repeat order or wish list, since I know this customer. Just can't recreate it so we simply adjust the invoice and end of it. We sell a lot of little craft items, so it is not an issue to adjust a little. Harder with big items like yours.

I've tried it using both "repeat order" and "wish list" and I cannot duplicate it. It has happened twice in the last week, though, and there is no explanation. Thanks for your input, Katharina.

I have had a couple of instances where PC did not properly adjust inventory counts after a purchase. In one case I had 2 pieces of an item left in stock and a customer a few hours later did purchase the last two pieces. Evidently the inventory was not properly adjusted as another customer purchased 2 pieces of the same now out of stock item and low and behold, the count was readjusted to zero and did come up as out of stock (after customer no. 2 "purchased" the items).
.
I know this happened because earlier that morning I did a count check on the inventory totals.

Hi Handmade, ProductCart uses the following "rules" when adjusting inventory levels.
http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/products_update_inventory#how_productcart_adjusts_inventory_levels If you are confident this did not occur on this occasion p,ease raise a support ticket so we can investigate. |
