I have two questions actually that relate to FireFox but probably also transend to the other "non-IE" browsers.
1) I had a user come in and tell me that he can't log in (I have the security enabled for log in) when using the FF browser. We went to the IE browser and it was just fine...I was able to log in using his information. Then I went out and tested Netscape, Chrome and Safari...same issues. PC and Mac. Can't log in with anything but IE.
2) ALL the above browers (FF, Netscape, Safari and Chrome) have the front page (home.asp) totally stretched out too far: I isolated it down to the pcstorefront.CSS (put backgrounds in each to find which style it was) but I can't seem to figure out the right combination to keep this "mid section" from stretching out. I also see it shows up on the log in pages too. When you are on the product pages or category main pages...it seems fine...SORT of past where it should be but not bad.
Thoughts and suggestions for the different browser issues. While 80% still come from IE, FF and other are growing and that is 20% I need to get working as soon as I can.
Thank you!!!! Edited by hollehock - 29-August-2009 at 6:16pm |

I certainly haven't experienced this login issue in non-IE browsers (I use FF to log in to the various PC stores we manage).
Could you provide the domain name so that we can check it out?

I'm not sure about the login issue but the things you mentioned are usually caused by the way different browsers handle CSS.
It's a real pain sometimes when they bring out a browser upgrade and suddenly parts of your site end up in the wrong place - IE8 is a good example of this.
There are ways around this by adding extra code to the CSS to fix it. Often you will find the answer after a digging around online.
I found a great one for the IE8 issues. Theres a bit of code you can add to the stylesheet to tell the browser to work in IE7 mode.

I am having this issue logging in in Firefox as well. It's weird because I have another shopping cart that works just fine logging in (regardless of browser)

Hi TheQC,
I use FF all the time and don't experience any issues. It could be down to an add-on such as "NoScript", or a security setting perhaps. Try testing from another PC. |
