I have been testing adding images... and then assigining them to items..
First off... do we have to create three sized images... one for each type? THumbnail etc...
Or can we use one image and it will autosize.
When i did add the image that i was testing... i added it several times and it was not in list... then it was after a few trys... what could that be?
Thanks again to all those that help... especially Hamish :)

ProductCart has a built in Upload and resize function but this only works if your hosting provider has the correct Upload/Resize component on the server. If its not there the option to do this does not show in your control panel and you have to do it all manually for each size.

You need www.aspjpeg.com and www.aspupload.com installed on your web server if those are not present. Or host with someone familiar with PC and who already invested in those server components.

specifically it is this:
Upload & Resize Image Feature ProductCart allows you to upload images to your store from within the Control Panel. There are two utilities in ProductCart that allow you to do so: (1) a simple upload utility (the images are uploaded ‘as is' to the Web server), and (2) an Upload & Resize utility which allows you to dynamically create 3 images from a source image file that is uploaded to the server (thumbnail, standard, and detail image). The Upload & Resize utility provides great time savings when adding products and categories to your store. However, in order to use this feature your Web server needs one of the following combinations of 3rd-party components installed on the server:
