We sell lots of products that are heavy and we like how the fedex interface works for those products.... however, we also sell lots of items that are less than an ounce and ship FLAT RATE. Is there a way to work around the shipping system so that the few items we want to ship flat rate can be and at the same time that flat rate offer is not available for items that weigh 118 pounds?
Decals ship USPS for $3.25 First Class When a customer checks out the custom rate set for this also shows up for an exhaust system weighing 85 pounds.... don't want customers to think they can choose that option for heavy item's W |

Create a custom shipping option called flat rate and restrict it to a weight range.

OK, I see how that can work.... there is no way to target a product or category? As strange as it sounds we would like to have several flat rates for flat packages and boxed that are all very light. I looked into the following: Flat rate based on order quantity Flat rate based on order weight Incremental calculation based on order quantity The weight may be a solution but yet it can still create issues I believe.... really wish the product build included the ability to assign a shipping profile to it with rules |

Flat Rate by item would be a godsend for us as well. More technically, Flat Rate for all items unless explicitly excluded, would be best for us.
For us, flat rate is good for most items, but if an item is especially heavy or requires extra insurance or will be prohibitively expensive (such as original art) I'd love to be able to exclude it from Flat Rate shipping. As it is now we put in the description that an item is not eligible for Flat Rate shipping, but most people don't read it and choose Flat Rate anyway.... |
